Lots of information and not all of it needs to be used by apprentice elders. Use the first 37 pages, and that will give prospective or new elders a good idea of the tasks and roles of elders. The rest of the handbook gives helpful info about specific issues and the "business" end of session/council meetings, Classis and Synod.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoListParagraph style='text-indent:-18.0pt;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><![if !supportLists]><span style='color:#1F497D'><span style='mso-list:Ignore'>2.<span style='font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> </span></span></span><![endif]><i><span style='color:#1F497D'>Leadership Essentials </span></i><span style='color:#1F497D'>by Greg Ogden is a great discipling tool for maturing leaders in your church -- deals with the areas of a leader's character, convictions, and various competencies. I have used this book with a number of leaders, not just elders, and it is a good book rooted in solid Bible study and accompanying readings.
