TRAIN's mandate is to 'equip our church members to be disciples of Christ and multiply the number of well- trained leaders (ordained, non-ordained, full time, part time, voluntary) who are actively involved in God's mission.'

We're seeking to work with local churches to be more effective in the work of discipleship. Our prayer is that all across the nation we grow disciples who will also be used by God to grow more and more disciples.

We're seeing wonderful collaboration grow between the ministry areas of youth, children, ministry development and the Reformed Theological College. We organise the annual Recharge training event for those involved in CRCA ministry.

  • Reformed Theological College

    The Reformed Theological College is committed to training people to serve God in the whole of life. An RTC training will establish you strongly in God's Word and help you develop the skills and character necessary for ministry in the Christian church.

  • Candidacy Committee

    If you are interested in becoming an ordained minister in the CRCA we would love to encourage you to continue reading. In the CRCA, we encourage candidates for ordination to study through the Reformed Theological College (RTC). Once candidates have completed their studies they will need to complete a vicariate (a one year internship alongside a senior minister). The training process and vicariate placement are overseen by the Candidacy Committee (CC) who approves students as Ministry Candidates. The CC has a State Representative in each Classis as well as an Executive in Victoria (Geelong). If you are interested in becoming an ordained minister in the CRCA we would encourage you to start the process before you start studying.

  • SHIFT Coaching

    Shift is all about movement – with the help of one another and the power of God to reach our broken places and move ever closer to living a life worthy of our callings as churches and leaders. Leadership development begins with acknowledging and trusting the process and the people God uses to grow us. We cannot lead others where we have not been ourselves. All CRCA pastors are encouraged to establish a coaching relationship for themselves where a series of questions can be intentionally and regularly discussed. This coaching relationship could be with a ministerial peer, an elder, a wise and mature member of the congregation, or in a professional relationship. Church Councils are also prompted to review their actions toward the professional development of their pastor(s).
