[Bulletins] Typhoon Haiyan Appeal

*All CRCA churches are being asked (by way of this email) to consider
giving their members an opportunity to respond to last Friday's destructive
typhoon affecting so many people in central Philippines. World Development
and Relief is suggesting that a "special" collection is organised next
Sunday 24th November. We will most likely channel gifts through the
Christian Reformed Churches of the Philippines or CRCNA's "World Concern".
This is still being carefully considered, but at this moment we want to
alert our members to the appeal, so they can respond appropriately and so
that we can make sure gifts are sent as soon as practicable.*

*URGENT TYPHOON EMERGENCY APPEAL*

The strongest typhoon in the world this year, and possibly the most
powerful ever to hit land, battered the central Philippines on Friday,
November 8, 2013. There are estimates that it could be the most damaging
storm of the past century. WD&R is making an emergency appeal so that we
also offer help in our Lord's name to so many suffering people in this land
where there is so much poverty already. At this moment in time, we have not
clarified exactly how our gifts will be distributed, but WD&R will closely
follow our Synodically approved guidelines. Please give generously next *Sunday
24th November*.
