To all CRCA pastors, ministry workers, and their spouses:

 

            Two years ago 66 CRCA pastors, spouses, and other ministry
workers gathered at the Collaroy Conference Centre in Sydney for the 2011
Recharge Ministry Conference.   The 2013 gathering of CRCA pastors, ministry
workers, and spouses will be an event you will not want to miss.   This CRCA
sponsored conference emphasizes our goal for the conference:   to recharge
God's leaders among us in body, mind, and spirit. 

 

            The theme of this year's conference will focus on the church as
a contrast community.  We are privileged to have as one of our keynote
speakers this year, Michael Goheen.   Ordained in the CRCNA, Michael Goheen
is Professor of Missiology, Calvin Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids.
Michael began ministry as a church planter and has continued to be a
preaching pastor for the past 13 years in addition to his teaching and
writing.   Joining Michael will be his daughter Erin and her husband Mark
Glanville.  Mark is currently a CRC pastor in Vancouver, Canada, and doing
Old Testament studies, but lived most of his life in Sydney.   Mark will
give the daily expositions from God's Word.   Erin will give two of the
plenary talks.    More information about our keynote speakers and the
conference can be found on the attached information sheets.

 

            We encourage you to consider attending this year's conference.
A registration form is attached and also can be downloaded from the Ministry
Formation website.   The conference is not only an excellent opportunity for
you to be recharged for ministry but also a great time to network with other
pastors, their spouses, and ministry workers in the CRCA.    Those who
attend will also be able to share at this conference through the small
groups as well as sharing a good ministry resource that you as a church have
found particularly helpful in advancing the gospel in and through the
church.   A separate mailing has been posted today addressed to your church
council/session/board.   Look for it in the next several days in the post.

 

            Can I ask you for one more thing?   Please pray for this
conference - for our keynote speakers Michael, Mark and Erin, and for each
person attending - that God will be glorified among us and his kingdom
advanced.   To him be all the glory!
