Hi John,

As a session we have been working through the book "Now that You're an
Elder" by Howard D Vanderwell. I have edited some of the chapters but on
the whole they have been a good spring board for discussion on the work in
office, particularly from a personal attitude and mo5tive perspective, as
well as looking forward to what the future holds.

Regards, Reinier

Subject: [Mins] Clarification of my previous request

Hello again brothers

My apologies; I feel my previous email wasn't real clear so let me try
again.

I'm looking for suggestions for a book we can work through which will focus
on the church and the work of elders in a practical and reasonably concise
format (possibly with study questions), and which will also lend itself to
group discussion.

In the past we've used Berghoef and de Koster's "The Elder's Handbook"
(CRCNA) but it's somewhat dated (although still helpful) and we're hoping to
find something else. Has anyone used the updated version (by Tamminga I
think)? "Escaping Mediocrity" by Kel Willis has been suggested but is out
of print. Looking forward to hearing from you if you have a moment.

Thanks again for your consideration. God's blessings.

John.
