Hi all

 

This is just to let you know that the Rev Andrew and Mrs Lydia Nugteren and
their seven children arrive in Brisbane from Christchurch today.

 

On Saturday Andrew will be meeting with Classis Queensland for a Colloquium
Doctum.  If Classis approves then he will installed as the new minister for
CRC Toowoomba on Sunday June 23rd.

 

The church has budgeted for me to continue for the time being on a one day a
week basis as associate pastor to work with Andrew.  But first I'm looking
forward to some annual leave after Andrew's installation and Merle, Leah and
I plan on visiting Merle's son in Christchurch for ten days.

 

As you pray for vacant churches please remember now also the Wellington
congregation and the vacancy that has been created there by Andrew's
departure for the CRCA.

Keep it to yourself

This past week I was following a discussion on the Internet about the growth
of atheism in Australia.  Apparently, according to figures from the latest
census, the number of professing atheists in Australia has grown.  Our local
newspaper triggered the debate by asking whether there was still a future
for religion.
