Greetings to all bulletin editors of CRCA churches, (also for the
information of RCNZ churches.)
 
At the end of September we informed the leadership of your congregation
about the fact that WD&R was going to urge special prayer for Syria on
Sunday 3 November (World Day of prayer for suffering believers.) On that day
churches may also take up an offering for Syria which WD&R is coordinating. 
 
If the leadership at your congregation has agreed to participate in this,
then please use the following material for your church's newsletter this
Sunday. I will be giving more specific details in next week's bulletin note
.

Prayer and financial support for suffering Syrian believers. 
On Sunday 3 Nov. there will be an opportunity to give towards Christians in
great stress due to the Syrian crisis.
Due to the civil war their plight is difficult. Because they believe in
Christ, their suffering is even greater. 
 
WD&R is giving an opportunity for churches to give, by coordinating a
special appeal for funds for struggling Christians. Our support will go
through MERF Diaconal Aid in Syria.  MERF enables faithful churches in Syria
to bring much needed help to the most vulnerable with basic food, shelter,
and medical care, along with spiritual nurture.
