We pray you have had a great start to the year and all are in good health. Here in the Wheatbelt as we continue the rural and remote town outreach of CRC Perth, we have started the year with a huge development in the progress of this mission. This development has to do with a major move forward as to the aviation element of this mission as per the original vision. Follow the link below for the latest news. http://wheatbeltchristianfellowship.org/default.htm Blessings in Christ Geoff van Schie -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We have been using it here too. However, locally I wanted to pick up on some matters that I felt are important to communicate to parents who present their child for baptism. Hence I've drawn up the attached to suit our local needs and Andrew N and I just used it this evening as a discussion guide with a couple who will be having their baby baptised this Sunday. I figured that there may be others who would also like to use this alongside of the denominational brochure. If you feel it might be useful, send me your church's logo; I'll substitute it for the Toowoomba logo and then send you a copy in PDF format that you can then print off and use. I figured that as a worst case scenario I would not have to do this more than 50 times J Let me know if I can be of assistance. In November I sent out the email as hereunder and to date not had even one reply. I am assuming this is due to the fact that it was just prior to the busy Christmas season thus the request has been put on the back burner for then. However as the time for me to return to the Netherlands draws nearer and also my visit to Mr Smallenbroek, I would ask that you consider my request as soon as possible. It would be most disappointing if not one church in the whole denomination responded to Mr Smallenbroek?s request. I understand that you may be busy as all the new activities for 2014 commence, but could you then ask an older member in your congregation who knows the history of your congregation who may like to correspond with me or even this nice elderly man in the Netherlands. A retired elder in one church I spoke with recently was able to give me information about his church dating back to 1957. Regards, Robert Spits From: robertspits at gmail.com Sent: Thursday, November 21, 2013 9:16 PM To: mins at crca.org.au Subject: Church seals To the Ministers, Clerks, Administrators Christian Reformed Churches of Australia Greetings, I am writing to you with a request, however I would like to give some background to this request. Earlier I had several meetings with a man in the Netherlands who was for 30 or so years the archivist for the Hervormed kerk in the Netherlands and after his retirement he continued for 20 more years to collect and archive history/ info about protestant churches of Reformed/ Presbyterian persuasion. He has written many articles for various church and other publications in the Netherlands and also produced a beautiful bound book entitled. RELIGIEUZE CANON IN 25 VENTSTERS OP DE GODSDIENSTIG GESCHIEDENIS VAN NEDERLAND IN RELATIE TOT DE HERALKIEK EN SYMBOLIEK IN WAPENS EN KERKZEGELS ?ALS BEELDRAGERS DER GESCHIEDENIS? This man collects copies of church seals and has copies of seals dating back to 1572 (Breda Nederland) in addition to collecting the seal of a church he also tries to get the history of the church to go with a seal. Thus he has thousands of pages of historical information about protestant churches from all over the world (4500 seals) but very little about the CRCA. He asked me if I knew of someone maybe a denominational archivist who he could write to see if there are congregations who have a church seal or logo and could he have a copy and if possible some history about the seal. I told him that I would make his request known to the churches via this medium and see what response we get. I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with a copy of your churches? seal or logo/letterhead that I could pass on to him when I go to Nederland again in early 2014. If it is possible some history about the seal and also about your congregation would be appreciated. Perhaps your congregation has a local history booklet in a soft or hard copy that we could have, all hard copies would be returned. Greetings in our Lord's name. Last year WD&R initiated 2 emergency appeal. 1. We requested that churches consider the plight of believers due to the Syrian crisis. 2. We also asked for funds for the Typhoon in the Philippines. If your congregation responded to one or both of these appeals, may I ask you to check to see if the funds have now been processed. Some offering proceeds have been received by our denominational treasurer and some have come directly into the WD&R account. Whichever way the funds are sent, please make sure you designate what they are to be allocated to. Already funds are being used at the respective destinations, but we want to make sure that all the funds are sent in a timely manner. Thanks for your cooperation, Yours in Christ, Bert Kuipers - WD&R publicity. * 11 Heritage Rise, Riverside, TAS. 7250 Australia ( +61 (03) 6327 3058 0438 343101 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Lord willing we plan to take my first trip in it to Northam (100km sth) and then Jandakot (Perth) in order to get two quotes on some immediate work I wish to get done on it before I really get to work with it. Meanwhile yesterday we had an encouraging message on our new dedicated Facebook page from a mum in Sydney who viewed a HD video sermon I only posted yesterday on YouTube. To help keep up with developments in this mission and provide you with the info for your prayerful support, we have update the home page of our website: New navigation buttons have been added to our website's home page's central NEWS column. There were baptism programs in the Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan mission fields where all together 34 persons made professions of faith and received the sign of baptism in the month of December. We praise our sovereign Lord for helping, guiding and leading us in our ministries. In 2013 some 635 believers were baptised. Please join with us in praising and thanking our Lord for wonderful harvest. 2. Christmas programs were conducted in the mission field in all four states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. A lot of non Christians came along. Please pray that the Gospel message will be remembered by the listeners and will work in their heart to bring them to the Lord. 3. Vision. If God wills, our missionaries would like to expand our area of ministry in new (other) villages in the year 2014 by starting new worship groups and prayer cells. Pray that our Lord will lead us to the God chosen villages for outreach. We are trusting that the Lord may provide resources for us to appoint more missionaries to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in unchurched regions. _____ Bert Kuipers for G.O.S.P.E.L. * 11 Heritage Rise, Riverside, TAS. 7250 Australia ( +61 (03) 6327 3058 0438 343101 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
