*Dear John,
As you know, I wear two denominational hats.
One is WD&R.
The other is called G.O.S.P.E.L.
When I sent today's email, I was clearly wearing the GOSPEL hat.
GOSPEL is and remains an "opt in" indigenous church planting work in
Central Western India.
Synod has endorsed this work much like SIW, Bethesda etc.
The GOSPEL committee wants to make this ministry to be well known and
since we are part of GROW, we feel very comfortable to ask for prayer in
the CRCA.
At Christmas and Easter time the churches are asked to give an offering
for WD&R.
Annually churches give 3 offerings to WD&R. This is not an "opt in"
ministry of our denomination.
It is not a church planting work at all. It is clearly diaconal.
We always covet your prayers for the needs in this hurting world.
I do hope these point help to clarify any misunderstanding.
Let me say again that there is no developing Church planting strategy of
WD&R.
The mandate and work of WD&R is clearly development and relief in Asia
and Pacific.
God bless you and the work of your church and the ministry of mercy.
Yours in Christ,
Bert Kuipers.
