We have visited the Mamosa village which is about 90 min drive from the SWIM Base. We identified a need for a water tank project, repairs to the school classrooms and some community toilets. It’s been a busy month on the S.W.I. M. base, with local and Australian group bookings for the Transit House and Conference Centre, 2 Pastors’ and Leaders’ training conferences with Pastor Eric Maefonea and 2 containers to clear from the port. Container clearing is always a time consuming job with corruption on the port holding up deliveries. There has been a fair amount of rain over April, creating interesting road conditions.   The Transit House bookings were light for March, however, busy times are expected ahead for April, May, and June, some substantial, as in large groups for 2 weeks at a time.

It’s just coming to 3 weeks since we arrived at the SWIM base in Honiara and what an exciting challenge and full-on time it has been - getting to know all 27 people who live on the base and how life works here. There are also groups regularly coming in to stay at the Transit house that holds up to 30 guests.

God’s work never stops, and so it is with His work in the Solomon Islands! Work on the base has been continuing on, from preaching God’s word at workshops and open air-rallies to fixing the base cars, cleaning sheets, and mowing lawns.
