SWIM Newsletter March 2016Over 2020, Covid restrictions have prevented expat teams and ministries from coming into the Solomon Islands. This hasn’t stopped SWIM’s effectiveness in fulfilling its role of supporting Christian mission in the Solomons.

With help of the local staff and Pastor Andrew Fanasia, several initiatives are providing support for churches and the local community. This newsletter will highlight and inform you of these ministry initiatives. This is exciting to see that no barrier is too great to prevent the mission work going forward.

SWIM Newsletter May 2021

SWIM in the Solomon Islands commenced over 20 years ago with a plan to assist the Solomon Islands community with Word and Deed ministry. SWIM has progressed from a faithful prayer to a well equipped base on the outskirts of Honiara. Many members of the CRCA have contributed to the SWIM base through building projects to create the well established facility we currently have.

The heart of the matter is God’s missional purpose for Jesus’ body on the earth.  I finished the last newsletter talking about the world in a coronavirus lock down. Everyone was instructed to stay at home, to keep strict hygiene protocols such as washing our hands, and as restrictions eased, to exercise social distancing. Now that we have all experienced these kind of restrictions we are painfully aware that we can’t take our freedoms for granted.

SIW and the Local Leadership Team are very pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Fanasia in a Word Ministry role. Everyone connected to SWIM is excited about the forward momentum this will bring to our effectiveness in the Solomons.

We are so grateful for all your support towards the missions and ministry work here at SWIM Solomon Islands. This support and prayer has been a platform from which SWIM has been enabled to continue its ministry to the communities and individuals in the Solomon Islands. This year, as in years past, SWIM continues to serve in ministry and missions in the face of many challenges.
