A Church Reforming to Reach the Lost for Christ

Christian Reformed Churches of Australia

Please make sure you get to see the latest Compassionate Gift catalogue. All these “gifts” represent great ways that we are able to partner with Christ centred international ministries which make a difference to so many in Jesus name.

Here is the link to view the catalogue online or visit the Compassionate Catalgue on Facebook.

After volunteering to write this blog I got writer’s block and a bit of anxiety: “why did I offer to do this??”

Truth is: I don’t really have much expertise. I have never been part of a church plant, nor has our church been overly successful at planting churches. And yet I continue to find myself captured by the work of God as I see new churches planted, take root and grow.

1. 52 new believers were baptized in March from central Gujarat, Udaipur, Barwani and Nasik clusters. Please pray that they will grow in the knowledge of our Lord and His word and transform into disciples of our Lord.
2. On Good Friday nearby congregation held combined events to remember the suffering of our Lord. Christ’s work of atonement on the cross was highlighted.
3. Please pray for all the children of our workers. It’s exam time and that puts more pressure on families
4. The 3rd roll out of the diploma course for our evangelists will take place in May at two venues. Please pray that this course will be helping to equip and edify our evangelists so that they proclaim the “whole counsel of God”.
5. Because GOSPEL has grown so much, we are preparing one of our own to become the full-time trainer and coach for our team. Ravi has just completed the first of 2 years study. He hopes to graduate with M.Th. this time next year.

For many years, Rev. Bert Kuipers has worked for the Kingdom in his role as Publicity Officer for World Transform and GOSPEL. For some time, the World Transform and GOSPEL subcommittees have been engaged in succession planning, with the knowledge that Bert Kuipers will be retiring from his role. The WT and G.O.S.P.E.L. subcommittees (in consultation with GROW) are continuing to seek Expressions of Interest for the role of Publicity Officer.  Please find the Position Description here: Expression of Interest GOSPEL WT PO

1. The Hindu castes system is an abhorrent reality in India. The people who live in villages are not all the same caste. Different castes live side by side. The higher the caste, the more resistant they often are to hearing the Word of God. Just recently there was a breakthrough among the Patel caste. Our evangelist Makala shared the Gospel with some Patel folk. Now 8 of them are keen to hear the word of God. Please pray that God will open their mind and hearts to understand the truth of Gospel and to put their trust in Jesus alone and not their caste.

2. GOSPEL evangelists from two clusters were able to baptize 47 new believers in March. Another 90 young believers started attending worship and prayer groups during the same month.

3. New field surveys have been carried out in two districts of Jalgaon and Dhule as we are hoping to continue to extend outreach in new places where “Christ is not known...” Pray that God would guide these surveys and provide the resources for extending his Kingdom there too.

4. Holiday Bible activities (VBS) will be organised during last week of April and first week of May. These are great opportunities to teach the Gospel to children. Pray for the teachers to use their talents to grow the next generation.

5. The Annual Field Report 2018 is being distributed this month. If you didn’t get your copy, please read it on line. https://gospel.net.au/resources/ Please pray that many Bhil tribals would come to Christ.
