A Church Reforming to Reach the Lost for Christ

Christian Reformed Churches of Australia

Prayer and Praise Items for February ‘23.

1.    God has wonderfully blessed our ministry with a great harvest of 1652 professions of faith. Some 20 worship groups and 73 prayer cells were started in the year 2022. We praise and thank our Lord for his eternal plan to bring his chosen people into his fold. Please pray for these new souls to remain steadfast and continue to grow in their faith.

2.    A motivational conference for the evangelists and a “graduation” ceremony were held in December.   The Word of God that was shared focused on the theme of “overcoming struggles in the mission field”. There was also a graduation ceremony for 28 of our GOSPEL workers who were given the PTS diploma.

3.    Last year there were lots of joyful Christmas events held in the mission fields. During these celebrations the saving work of our Lord Jesus Christ was wonderfully proclaimed through these programs.

4.    January was a time of thanksgiving for ’22 and prayer and planning for ’23. We spent a whole day of thanking the Lord and seeking his grace and guidance for year ahead.

5.    Our GOSPEL mission field in growing. A new cluster of 5 keen evangelists was appointed in December 2022. We request your kind prayers for this new mission field and workers to establish the kingdom of God.

6.    Please pray for the upcoming GOSPEL workers training program which will be held in our Southern region mission field from 14th to 16th February 2023. About 25 GOSPEL workers will attend this training.

To God be the glory.

  1. We praise God for 61 new believers who received baptism in 5 of our clusters: Nasik, Saputara, Barwani, Udaipur and Narmada clusters.
  2. Due to monsoon and heavy rain, believers in most parts of our mission fields reported infections with Chikungunya, a viral disease transmitted to humans by mosquitoes, causing fever and severe joint pain. Many believers and one of our evangelist Rasiya, his wife and son have been infected and are receiving treatment.
  3. Please pray for the mission field of one of our workers named Vishram . There are lot of disturbance from opposing Hindu groups as they are trying to stop and disturb the worship services and prayer meetings he leads.

India covid1. GOSPEL workers and believers praise our Lord for the relaxation of the lockdown. Worship services and mission activities will resume in the first week of July. Please pray for protection against COVID-19 infection.

2. The rate of COVID-19 infection in India is very high and about 19000 have died. Lockdown restrictions are being eased at a time when the infection/death rate is increasing. Please pray for wisdom for leaders to make the right decisions to keep the situation under control.

3. Believers in the GOSPEL mission field praise our Lord for the good monsoon, which enabled most to cultivate their agricultural lands. Please continue to pray for the needed rainfall during the monsoon.

4. We need your special prayers for GOSPEL workers as they are preparing to re-launch church planting, outreach and other mission activities after a gap of 3 months. Please pray that our Lord will guide workers during this challenging time.

Please Pray for the newly baptised brothers and sisters, that they will be strong in their faith and knowledge of Christ because often they face times of persecution. 47 new believers were baptised from different regions in June 2017 and as many as 250 are ready to receive baptism in July.

Praise to our Almighty God for the good monsoon rains this year. It means that farmers can cultivate a good crop.  Most of our pastor/evangelists also have small piece of land in their village which they cultivate with rice and wheat which helps supports them for some of their food.

Please pray for Suhas who has just started work in 2 outreach villages at Umja and Ashapur in Narmada mission field.  He asks for prayer that our Lord will open the door in these two outreach villages with new contacts with good response for the gospel.

1. The evangelists were used of God to continue to proclaim “Christ Alone”. God has poured out his Holy Spirit and 72 new believers have come to trust our Lord Jesus Christ last month. (Manshuklal has started a new prayer group at Ramjada village with eighteen new believers).

2. The “Food and Medicines for a Family” project has provided a significant quantities of food items along with vitamins and medicines for those affected by Corona virus - lockdowns. Bhil communities have expressed their sincere thanks. They have been experiencing much suffering.

3. Jamsingh praises God for 20 new believers who are ready for baptism. Rasiya praises God for 18 new believers. God is mightily at work during this lockdown period.

4. Shersingh’s wife Jyoti has had to undergo emergency surgery. She is making a good recovery.

5. Meerchand has faced threats and opposition from the local community last month. Despite the threats, there is steadfast support from the believers. May God sustain this group facing persecution right now.
