A Church Reforming to Reach the Lost for Christ

Christian Reformed Churches of Australia

Prayer and Praise Items for August ‘23.

1.    40 Believers came for a special time of prayer were held last month.

2.    35 women’s group leaders gathered for Bible study, training, prayer and fellowship.

3.    One worker Dharam is thankful to the Lord for four families who have come to faith in his ministry field. God has given an “open door” for the Word there. He has asked for prayer for these ‘covenant’ families that have come to believe in Jesus. May every member truly believe in Christ alone.

4.    We praise our sovereign God for enabling our GOSPEL workers in the Northern and Southern region mission field to share gospel to the 110 new people last month.

5.     One of our leaders named Rajesh praises our Lord through the testimony of his son, who met with a nasty motor bike accident two weeks ago. He was admitted to the hospital with leg and shoulders injuries. By God’s grace he has fully recovered. The whole family praise our Lord for saving this young man’s life.

The ministry of GOSPEL is not solely Word based. There are specific ministries for youth. A significant support ministry is the Community Health Program where many nurses are sent into villages where doctors never go.

1. Praise God that the November sessions of “Diploma in Theology” training program by Presbyterian Theological Seminary were held.

2. Vacation Bible School(VBS) program was conducted successfully in Northern Cluster of the field. It was a great program for two days with many activities. Please pray that many non-Christian children who have attended VBS will continue to remember God’s word planted in their hearts.

3. Please pray for the Nakalal Pandey family. They recently lost their daughter who had come to faith and had received baptised. Sadly, the villagers have suggested to the family that she died because she was baptised. So, there is conflict and tension between the Christians and the village leaders. Praise God that the family is strong in faith despite being prevented from being involved in any social gathering of the village in the future. Please pray for this family.

4. Please pray for the planning meeting for 2018 to be held at Vadodara on 14th and 15th of this month. Pray for the guidance of our Lord so that God’s name will be extended and glorified through the work of GOSPEL.

5. Praise God for the newly baptised believers. As many as 68 believers were baptised from Central Gujarat mission field during the last week of October 2017

baptism1. Praise God for 38 baptised believers from different clusters in November 2019. (Some 750 young believers are still preparing for baptism.)

2. There were two elders’ seminars held in two different places. Nearly 100 church leaders participated and a wonderful time of fellowship and learning. Kindly pray for these elders to understand their role in their congregation to make the churches more strong in Christian faith. South Gujarat field workers praise God for two seminars for women conducted in Nov. Nearly 200 women attended these seminars and blessed through the fellowship. Women from different congregations have shown great interest to serve in their congregations, family and society. We praise God for the great transformation that continues to take place amongst the women in our clusters.

3. All 24 trainees under the Diploma of Theology program praise God for the completion of the first of two years of study.

4. Christmas is a great opportunity for our believers and workers to spread the gospel of grace. Thousands of non-Christians will be attending Christmas programs to be conducted in all our GOSPEL mission field. Kindly pray that many will hear the gospel message and experience the salvation available in our Lord Jesus Christ. Altogether there are 120 preaching places and 185 prayer groups where the coming of the Saviour will be boldly proclaimed.

5. We give thanks to the Lord for another year of Kingdom partnership we share with Reformed churches and believers in Australasia.

1. Please pray for the forthcoming special Gospel presentations that are often held at Christmas time. Last year, there were some disturbances by Hindu activists.

2. Praise God for the 85 new believers added in November. There will be many baptisms this month of Dec. Special caution is given at public baptisms.

3. Seven new prayer cells that have been started. God has blessed the constant effort of our workers as they make contacts with new people. By God’s grace many respond to the claims of Christ.

4. The 20 tuition centres in Maharashtra and South Gujarat will all present special Advent programs where the Hindu parents come and hear of the coming of the King. May this message be a means God uses to change the hearts of these parents to trust our Lord Jesus Christ alone.

5. It is hard to get medical doctors to attend the “special” clinics in our Community Health Centres now operating in three places: Sevaniya (Rajasthan), Barwani (Madhya Pradesh) and Zarwad (Maharashtra). The presence of a fully trained doctor enhances the work our health workers do in helping the sick in Jesus name.

1. Our G.O.S.P.E.L. worker Harish from Banswara, Rajasthan - praises God for 51 baptized believers in November. Please pray for these new believers to grow in the Lord in spite of the prevailing persecution and opposition from the community.

2. Our GOSPEL workers from Narmada region of Gujarat mission field praise our Lord for 38 new believers who have confessed Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

3. Christmas time is usually a good time to share the Good News of the coming of Jesus with non-believers in the mission field. Due to the COVID, there may be challenges. GOSPEL workers are keen to take some opportunities that may be available to have small gatherings.

4. Please also pray for the education of children of G.O.S.P.E.L. workers and believers in our mission field. On line classes do not really work because of the poor facilities. Please pray for re-starting of physical classes for children in our mission field.
